About our best mate Joe Hammeke
Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, Joe Hammeke grew up with a special love for animals, especially man's best friends. During his younger days his father would take him out on photo hunts. This is where Joe began to develop his eye and grow a love for photography. Thanks to these excursions with his father and to Barkley 1, Barkley 2, and Mekon (his childhood dogs), he was able to hone the skills of a photographer and exceptional handling of animals. Currently Joe uses our furry kids, Mojo, Osa, Ella and Sam on a regular basis as muses. When the camera coes out, their faces light up! They love the extra attention and treats (of course!)
Joe developed as a professional photographer through his other love, skateboarding. He is a renown and respected professional photographer within the field of skateboarding. His career as a skateboarding photographer has granted him the opportunity to travel which has provided many opportunities not only for amazing skateboarding photos but for landscape, architecture and of course pets and exotic animals photos as well.
Overall, Joe is a well rounded professional photographer. Besides pet photography, he is well versed in weddings, architecture, family portraits, editorial, commercial and band photography.
Recently, Joe married the love of his life, Jessica (That's me!). We share a home with our furry kids in Tempe, Arizona. We are both animal fanatics who can't get enough of wildlife nor our pets. Over the years, I have naturally become his assistant. During this time, I have been fortunate to witness Joe's natural way with animals and his technical and creative eye behind the lens. I am proud of the dedication and love Joe has for his craft.
